Showroom with offices
The aim of the design is to realize the expansion of the window and glass construction company Krazer with office and exhibition space on the existing company premises.
The client's wish was to be present with a "shop window" at a prominent urban location on Spraitbacher Strasse in Mutlangen.
In addition, new offices were to be created that would enable both optimum customer service and sensible coordination of the existing window production processes.
The building was developed on the basis of these criteria:
The new building structures the company premises into public areas for customer traffic and more intimate areas for production.
With its clear design language, the new building gives Krazer a clear presence at the existing site without dominating the surroundings.
The mullion and transom façade made of wood, the corner window that extends into the roof surface and thus brings the sky into the building and the clearly structured perforated façade show the customer the possibilities of glass as a building material.
Transparency and clarity - characteristics of glass as a building material - are the basic ideas behind the architectural concept.
Inside, the new building presents itself from the basement to the upper floor as a volume in which the individual uses fit like galleries.
